1. What is Kidpreneur Day?

Yes. Applicants must submit a video application to kidpreneur@tassajarahillspta.org by August 31st featuring their handmade product pitch. Videos should be 5 minutes or less and may include the student introducing themselves, sharing their product idea, explaining how it’s made, and showing their creativity and enthusiasm. No professional editing is needed!

SUBMIT VIDEOS TO: kidpreneur@tassajarahillspta.org

4. What is the deadline to apply?

Video applications are due Sept. 9th, 2026

5. How will the shops be selected?

Because space is limited, applications will be reviewed based on creativity, effort, enthusiasm, handmade products, and variety of businesses. We are not looking for professionally made videos — we simply want to learn more about each student’s idea and excitement for participating!

6. When will I know if my application has been accepted?

All applicants will receive an email from kidpreneur@tassajarahillspta.org by Tuesday, September 10th.

7. Who can participate?
2nd to 5th graders can apply to sell on Kidpreneur Day. All grades are welcomed to come shop that day!

8. What will the PTA supply for me?

  • Posterboard to make your business’s sign (tape will be provided at the event)

  • Social media and other marketing efforts to advertise your business

  • A commemorative gift for participating in the event!

9. What things do I need for my shop on the day of the event?

Kidpreneurs should plan to supply the following for themselves, as needed:

  • Product and pricing signage, price tags, sign with payment QR code(s)

  • Packaging (e.g. bags)

  • Cash box, cash change (bills and coins)

  • Sales log

  • Inventory sheet

10. What can I sell at my mini-shop?
Kidpreneurs may sell either non-edible goods or services. Goods must be handmade by them (e.g. beaded keychains, bottlecap magnets, clay bowls, knitted scarves, etc.). Services must be performed on-site at the event (e.g. temporary tattoos, nail decals, photo booth, etc.). Be creative and think outside the box. What can you make that is unique and special? The most important rule is to have fun and be creative. This is a great opportunity to learn about business and entrepreneurship.

11. What am I NOT allowed to sell at my mini-shop?

  • No food items

  • No violent or inappropriate items: All items must be appropriate for a school event.

  • No pre-made items: You are not allowed to buy toys, clothes, or other items from a store and then re-sell them as-is.

  • Your products can include some pre-made components (like beads or parts for a kit), but the final item must be designed or assembled by you. This is what being a "Kidpreneur" is all about!

  • Kits are okay: If your kit is handmade, you can include a few pre-made items. For example, if you are selling a jewelry-making kit, it's okay to include some pre-made beads and wire.

12. How many different items can I sell? What is the estimated inventory they should prepare for the event?

We recommend you focus on maybe 1-2 main items. How much to make depends on your product type, price, and goals. Here's a handy article for consideration: https://www.madeurban.com/blog/how-much-inventory-to-bring-to-a-craft-show/ In past events, kids have made between 50-100 items in total, but do what you can! To help you plan, your Kidpreneur Committee will keep you posted on anticipated attendance when we know more.

13. How much should I price my items/services?

We’d recommend that most goods be priced below $10, and no more than $20.

14. Can I team up with a friend? How about a team of 3?

You can choose to work alone or work with one partner!  Teams of 2 max as space is limited in the MPR.  Kidpreneurs must be T.H.E. students in 2nd-5th grade. You may NOT team up with friends from another school.

15. What kind of payments are accepted?

16. Are there prizes?

We’ll have free swag for everyone who participates!

17. Do my parents need to help during the event? Can my parents help me make things?
While it's your time to shine, a little help from your parents is totally okay! They can guide and support you, especially in setting up your mini-shop. Parents are required to be at your booth at all times on the day of the event while you are selling.

18. What is the Shop Profile Page?
Your Shop Profile Page is one of the Adventure Tracker Milestones that Kidpreneurs will be be asked to create.
